Globally, girls who marry before age 18 are 50 percent more likely to face physical or sexual violence from a partner.

Why?
Most child marriages are younger girls to older man. INHERENT IMBALANCE OF POWER IS OCCURRED in their relationships.
So, what is domestic violence?
Violence or other abuse in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or cohabitation.
“Women across 34 countries are at increased risk for domestic violence if they marry before age 15.”
“Physical and/or sexual violence was higher among women who married as children (29%) compared to those who married as adults (20%).”
